Fried dumpling plays an unforgettable role in Guangxi people’s childhood memory. When I was on my way home after school, I could always smelt the aroma of oil, pork and garlic chives coming from the side of the street. I could hardly refuse this temptation so I bought them without second thought. After finish eating the dumpling, I must wipe my greasy mouth so that my parents wouldn’t know about this little mischief. However, the smell of garlic chives would soon reveal it all to my parent. Harsh scold about not eating street food is the usual result. If I had a chance to turn back time, I would hold my head high and, with the fullness of my dignity, say: “I know I’m wrong, but that won’t change my love for it!”
