Nankang Shuihe (Rice Cake)

The town Nankang is home to various He (rice cake) food and Shuihe is the most famous one. Nankang Shuihe bears the representative flavor of Beihai, which is refreshing and light taste. The food has but one ingredient — rice. To offer a layered chewing experience, the rice juice is steamed sequentially for few minutes. The dish is seasoned with ground garlic and soy sauce or vinegar. It is this simple flavoring that maintains the aroma of rice.
