The Binyang Paolong Festival

The Binyang Paolong Festival (also called Firecracker Dragon Festival), a national intangible cultural heritage, is held on the 11th day of the first month of the Chinese lunar calendar every year. Paolong Festival is a unique traditional festival in Binyang County, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. As a combination of Han and Zhuang cultures, Paolong Festival has been held for more than 1,000 years. One of the unique features of the dragon dance in Binyang is that it is accompanied in the streets by firecrackers.
