Ancient ceremony — Maonan’s Feitao

Feitao is an ancient ceremony for Maonan people in Guangxi’s Huangjiang County to offer sacrifices to nature. In the thousands of years of inheritance, Maonan’s oral literature, folk songs, drama, dances, music, masks and other elements have been constantly integrated into Maonan’s Feitao, finally becoming a unique folk activity. The wooden mask is one of the elements of it. The carving is fine, lifelike and has a strong ethnic flavor.
