It was built on the Aotou Peak, a stone in the middle of Zuojiang River, 2 km far away from the northeast of downtown of Chongzuo. The tower was built in the year of 1621 by Li Youmei, a governor in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and in the 35th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi (1696), a governor Xu Yue added two floors.
