Xiangshan Scenic Area

Established in 1986, Xiangshan is a national 5A-level scenic spot. In 2003, it was listed as the “recommended scenic spot by the world tourism organization”. The scenic spot takes the Elephant Trunk Hill as the center, covering the scenery of Elephant Mountain, Love Island, Puxian Tower, Yunfeng Temple, Sanhua Wine Cellar and so on. In the 2014 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, Hungary’s Attraction dance troupe presented the elephant trunk mountain in the creative dance "symbol China", which was the first time that a foreign performing group used a special dance form. Elephant Trunk Hill not only represents the city emblem of Guilin, but also becomes the symbol of harmony between humans and nature in the Chinese landscape. In September 2013, Xiangshan Scenic Area was awarded the title of “the most beautiful place to admire the moon in China”by CCTV news network.
