Zhuang brocade

Zhuang brocade, Yun brocade, Shu brocade and Song brocade, known as four famous brocades in China, are national treasures originated from the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Zhuang is the most represented national handcraft in Guangxi area as well as one of the four famous brocades of China. The origin place of it is Binyang County, Yicheng County, Jingxi County in Guangxi. The officers of Tusi Museum of Yicheng County said there was a girl of the Zhuang called Danimei who was good at weaving, thus the treasure Zhuang brocade was born. According to the archaeological proof, Guangxi already has the brocade early in the Han Dynasty (202 BC-220 AD). Recorded in the Six Songs of the Tang (618-907), the Zhuang people can weave many kinds of clothes which were seen as the tribute by the feudal dynasty. However, the textile which can be called the brocade appeared in the Song Dynasty. The qualified and colorful clothes in the early period of the Song is the Zhuang brocade.
